The renovation of the old kidney shaped pool was the occasion to re design the back garden of this Victorian house in the Brighton neighbourhood. The issue was how to make the garden feel sympathetic with the house: it has not been designed down to the principle by applying sentimental detailing and materials, instead it’s a composition of clean surfaces and elemental lines.
The paving, a geometric grid with bricks inserts, frames a rectangular pool. In the four corners, large bluestone blocks are the base for beautiful Anduze vases. Contemporary furniture, designed by Eco Outdoor, offer a spot where to sit and relax next to the water.
